Atelier Senyū Chopsticks and Case
If you've ever been to the tableware section of a Japanese store or eaten sushi you've definitely seen and used chopsticks. It is their aesthetics of simplicity that draws your attention.
Japanese chopsticks are called "O-hashi" or "お箸" in Japanese and are usually shorter than other chopsticks tapering to a fine point. The word "hashi" is the actual Japanese word for chopsticks. The "O" is a prefix known as bikago (美化語 embellishment word) attached to nouns to indicate respect.
Our O-hashi and carrying case come as a set, crafted in Oita prefecture on the island of Kyushu, from Japanese bamboo. The case is made from Central American cocobolo hardwood favored for fine inlay work for high-end products. The carrying also case comes with a braided drawstring to keep the lid secure.
Bringing your homemade lunch to the office in your Atelier Senyū lunch box with your O-hashi set is a great way to express your personal food style and appreciation for Japanese culinary culture!
